Chamber's Top Businesses of the Year Announced at Awards Banquet
Among the winners are Larry's Diner, Elegance Underneath and Insight Heating & Cooling.
Five businesses were recognized Tuesday as the best in the village for 2010-11.
The awards, presented by the , were determined by category from among 25 nominees, each of which had to complete a detailed questionnaire about their involvement in the community and with the chamber.
In all 69 businesses had been nominated but only those who completed the questionnaire were considered, chamber board Chairman Mike Montgomery said. The awards were handed out at a luncheon at Louie's Chophouse in Shorewood.

Also acknowledged as the chamber's ambassador of the year was Don Sinnott, of Brian Feltes & Associates Inc.

The 2011-12 chairman of the board is Mike Montgomery of Marquette Bank. He succeeds Eric Marsaglia of Nationwide Insurance, who will serve as past chairman. The vice chairman is David Kaleta of Elegance Underneith, the corporate secretary is Cathy Kuchenbecker of Paramount Promos and corporate treasurer is Julie Milavec of the Plainfield Public Library.
Board members are Tim Stetenfeld of Edward Jones Investments, Dave Jones of Overman-Jones Funeral Home, Don Sinnott of Brian Feltes and Associates, Richard Pogvara of Republic Bank, and T.J. Kardas of Plainfield Soap Opera Laundromat.
