Expo a 'One-Stop Shop' to Learn about Plainfield Businesses

Saturday event features 110 village businesses and service providers, freebies, raffles and a pancake breakfast.

The place to be Saturday for one-stop shopping for Plainfield goods and services is the ’s Business Expo.

The 17th annual event, featuring 110 businesses, will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at , 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive, Plainfield, in the Field House.

Admission and parking are free.

A pancake breakfast sponored by Friends of the will be served from 8 to 11 a.m.

Entertainment will be provided by the Sandra Vaughan Dance Academy.

“Our expo has always been very popular,” chamber president and CEO Liz Collins said. “Residents can meet local merchants. The businesses network and showcase what they have to offer.”

Many of the participating businesses will have raffles and freebies.

The Plainfield Park District, for example, will raffle an Ottawa Street Pool family season pass and a golf foursome at Fox Bend Golf Course in Oswego.

The expo also will include door prizes.

Since its inception, all booth spaces have sold out. The expo typically draws 1,500 to 2,000 attendees, Collins said.
