Nevin’s Brewing Company to Host Luau

A taste of Hawaii will come to Plainfield starting at 7 p.m., June 21 when Nevin’s Brewing Company, 12337 S. Route 59, will host a no-holds-barred, authentic Luau to celebrate its inaugural beer dinner. The cost is $45 per person not including tax and gratuity.

The event will feature live Hawaiian music, fire dancers, steel drums from Aloha Chicago and a five-course dinner featuring a pig roast. NBC brewmaster, Marc Wilson, has selected a different NBC beers to accompany each course and he will be on hand to describe each of the five beers and the brewing process.

Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant/brewery at 815-436-3900.

  • Local fisherman will be happy to hear the Plainfield Fishing Resort was stocked on June 13 with 1,000 pounds of catfish.
  • Steve Buresh's Cheesecake Store will set up a mobile cheesecake jar shop in the parking lot at Curves, 14200 S. Route 30 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., June 20. Turtle, Chocolate Chip and Vanilla Bean will be available.
  • Aurelio's Pizza Plainfield will be offering a free deep-dish cookie this Friday and Saturday for dine-in order only. The secret phrase is: tell'em joe sent you.
  •  Plainfield Public Library District will host The Flirty Cupcakes food truck at 2 p.m. on June 22.
  • The Penalty Box Bar & Grill, 16108 S. Route 59, had its ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m., June 18.
  • CROSSFIT Plainfield, 14903 Center Street, Suite 104, has recently affiliated with CrossFit Kids, an international program focused on bringing fitness, health, and confidence to children of all ages using functional movements, and a fun approach. Courses began Monday, June 3. Registration is required.
