Plainfield's Baci Building Back on the Market

Residents hoping for an upscale eatery in downtown Plainfield were disappointed to learn that restaurateur Darryl Sams' plans to renovate the former Baci restaurant building went up in smoke. Sams, who planned extensive restoration work on the more than century-old building, was to open a New Orleans-inspired eatery, but pulled the plug on the project at the end of the summer.

Bye-bye, Bill Jacobs, hello Webb Chevy: A family with a long history in the car business and ties to Plainfield took over the Route 30 dealership in September.

Last Call at Mickey O'Neill's

A Plainfield Irish pub went the way of its predecessor last January: Less than a year after opening, Mickey O'Neill's closed up shop in downtown Plainfield. Before becoming Mickey's, the location was home to the now-defunct Finnegan's Irish Pub.
