Plainfield Business Briefs: Which Wich Opens; Vito & Nick's Closes

One new Plainfield eatery is open, while another has apparently closed its doors for good.

Offering made-to-order creations, Which Wich Superior Sandwiches recently opened in the Kensington South shopping center at 127th and Route 59. It joined another new arrival, Chipotle, in the shopping center.

Just down the street, however, Vito & Nick's II, 12443 S. Route 59, appears to have closed up shop, a little more than a year after it was purchased by new owner Ralph Rzucek.

The phone number to the restaurant had been disconnected, and Rzucek did not return a message from Patch.

• Oak Trust Credit Union opened Monday, July 1, in the location formerly occupied by Integra Bank at 12251 S. Route 59.
• A new McDonald's — complete with 24-hour drive-thru, is scheduled to open this year near Route 30 and 135th Street
• Plainfield's second standalone Starbucks is also slated to open soon at 23915 W. Main St. Last year, developer Carl Bryant proposed opening a Dunkin' Donuts at the same location; that proposal never moved forward, and the village board recently approved a drive-thru at the new Starbucks. The coffee shop is now hiring.
• Capri Restaurant is coming soon at the downtown Plainfield building formerly occupied by Finnegan's and Mickey O'Neill's Irish pubs at 24102 W. Lockport St.
• Playin Thru Golf Shop has a new home: The shop moved from its downtown Plainfield location at 24050 W. Lockport St. to 2433 Von Esch Dr., according to the business' website.
