Plainfield Culver's Is Top MDA Fundraiser

The restaurant spent four weeks selling shamrocks to support MDA.

Culver's of Plainfield, 13449 S. Route 59, set a record in northern Illinois, raising the most money of any franchise for the Muscular Dystrophy Association as part of the chain's shamrock program.

The location, owned by Eric and Chrissy McCroskey, raised $2,600 for the MDA by selling paper shamrocks during the month of March. The Morris Culver's restaurant came in second place with $2,100.

"We're proud to call Plainfield home and doing our part to help just feels right," Eric McCroskey said. "I truly think that our location's success speaks volumes to the generosity of Plainfield and the surrounding communities," he added, thanking guests for making the shamrock campaign a success.

"Our team worked day and night to get the word out about MDA and the importance of donating to this cause that affects so many local families," McCroskey said.

"We knew that it would cost $800 just to send one child affected by muscle disease to MDA summer camp, and we wanted to make sure that we helped to send at least one child. I was so excited to see our team surpass that goal in assisting with that and contributing to more lifesaving research," said Bethany Rogers, Assistant Manager at Plainfield Culver's.
