Plainfield School of Rock to Host Summer Camps

From beginner camps to women in rock, Beatles, Led Zeppelin and more.

School of Rock, which opened last summer at 24026 W. Lockport St., is getting ready for summer.

The school, which offers instruction for ages 7 to 18, plus a "little wing" program for ages 3 to 5, will host a series of camps starting in June.

The options range from an "intro to rock" camp to programs catering to fans of the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and more.

Here's a roundup of the offerings:

  • June 9 to 13: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon: Rock 101/Intro to Rock Camp (Beginners, all instruments, ages 7+)
  • June 9 to June 13, Monday through Friday, noon to 3 p.m.: Beginner Guitar/Bass camp (Beginners, guitar/bass, ages 7+)
  • June 16 to June 20, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m: The Beatles Performance Camp (All Skill levels, All instruments, ages 7+)
  • June 23 to June 27, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Women of Modern Pop Music (All Skills Levels, All Instruments, ages 7+)
  • July 7 to July 11, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Led Zeppelin Performance Camp (Intermediate through Advanced, All Instruments, ages 9+)
  • July 14 to July 25, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (two-week camp): Songwriting and Recording camp (Intermediate through Advanced, All instruments, ages 9+)
  • July 28 to Aug. 1, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon: Beginner Guitar/Bass camp (Beginners, guitar/bass, ages 7+)
  • July 28 to Aug. 1, Monday through Friday, noon to 3 p.m.: Rock 101/Intro To Rock Camp (Beginners all instruments, ages 7+)
