Versed Salon Team Eager to Offer Personalized Service to Clients

Plainfield salon opened in May with upcycled countertops and customized make-up and hair care.

When you walk into Versed Salon in Plainfield, you will be greeted with a smiling face. The salon wants to welcome its clientelle, but really it is more than that.
The staff at the salon has all worked together before, in different times and at different salons. But they all got along so well that they decided to open one salon where they could all come back to work.
"We all really enjoyed working with each other,"Annika Chizmark, salon director said. "Our vibe was too good to leave it where it was."
The staff at Versed Salon, 11914 S. Route 59, is more like family. And they all enjoy working together.
"We always feel bad for people who have a case of the Mondays," Carla Pezzopane, salon coordinator said.
When the salon concept was born, it seemed that people were lining up to help make it a reality. The countertops, both on the registration area and on the make-up area are recycled bowling alleys that a friend of Chizmark had in his house. The salon stations were handcrafted by a man in New Lenox.
"We just all kind of went back to the classic vintage feel," Chizmark said.
Chizmark and the team also worked together to get products that had the best fit for the salon.
The hair care comes from a facility in Rockdale, so in addition to being a quality product, it is also locally sourced.
The make-up is a custom blend made just for the salon.
