New Marketing and Sales Director Happy to Join Monarch Landing Family

Monarch Landing, a senior living community in Naperville, welcomes a new marketing and sales director.  Hired earlier this year, Rita Peckhart was drawn to Monarch Landing because of its uniquely vibrant lifestyle.   “This is an active community with resident-driven programs and very energetic people,” she said.  “It is second to none in terms of service, amenities, activities, meals, resident engagement, and purposeful living.”

Formerly employed by an elder law attorney in Downers Grove, Peckhart is passionate about seniors and began working in the senior living industry 10 years ago, in both outside and inside sales.  Before joining Monarch Landing, she was employed with another retirement community.  “I was looking for a change, eager to learn, and Monarch Landing was a new undertaking for me,” said Peckhart.  “Here, our sales team works mainly with prospective residents themselves.  Monarch Landing residents are very proactive about their life choices.”

Being proactive is key not only from residents’ perspectives, but from Peckhart’s as well.   “Working with prospective residents and ultimately welcoming them to the Monarch Landing community is a win-win situation for everyone,” she said.  “Residents are very pleased with the lifestyle we provide, many wishing they’d moved in much sooner, and we are thrilled that they’re so happy with their decision.”  Peckhart is excited about the opportunities she and her team of six marketing professionals and sales counselors have to increase resident occupancy in the 90 percent sold community.

“There’s such momentum and excitement here.  It’s a great atmosphere to work in,” she said. Augmenting innovative advertising and marketing campaigns are programs that educate people considering a move from their own home, covering such issues as how to downsize, how to sell, and the benefits of community living.

Monarch Landing resident ambassadors also take an active role in the sales process by giving weekend tours of the community and sharing their positive living experiences.  A new outreach initiative offering programs and activities to members of the surrounding community has the side benefit of giving them a view of life at Monarch Landing as well.  The most effective strategy of all, according to Peckhart, is word of mouth.  “We have a high level of resident referrals at Monarch Landing; people are so happy with their lifestyle, they want their friends to live here, too,” she said.  “What says more than satisfied residents?”

Also a testament to the quality of life at Monarch Landing is the longevity of its staff, said Peckhart.  “Monarch Landing opened in 2006, and many of our first staff members are still here.  They are so proud of all Monarch Landing has to offer and so dedicated and passionate about what they do.  Everyone has the same goal; it’s a real family atmosphere, with staff personally knowing residents and residents knowing staff.  That’s truly unique, and I am very happy to be a part of it.”

Monarch Landing is a continuing care retirement community located on a scenic campus in Naperville, Illinois-named “one of America’s best places to live and retire” by Modern Maturity, and “the best city for early retirement” by Kiplinger. Monarch Landing currently offers independent living, promoting a vibrant life style for active seniors. Upon completion of The Springs at Monarch Landing which is currently under construction, the community will also offer assisted living memory support, rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, thus providing complete continuing care for seniors. Monarch Landing is owned by Senior Care Development and managed by Life Care Services.
