October 1988 saw the beginning of a new concept for Illinois – the 55+ Active Adult Community that was to the be the Midwest’s largest self contained retirement community called Carillon. Originally designed to cover over 1,477 acres of farm land in a sleepy little portion of Will County, the development had gone through a few changes and was scaled back from the projected 8,100 homes to just about 2,000 homes.
Over a decade later, Carillon remains a very popular destination for the 55+ Active Adult community. Residents not only enjoy their home but also the lifestyle the community has to offer.
