49ers And Seahawks Renew Rivalry.

NFC Game Of The Week

49ers (1-0) at Seahawks (1-0)

49ers: The 49ers look like more of a complete team now with Kap under center. He’s just not a guy that can run it like so many people have said, he can pass the ball too. I was so impressed with this offense on Sunday in week 1. They finally have an outside threat in Anquan Boldin who’s going to work the outside and take a great amount of pressure off Vernon Davis who has been the only target in the 49ers passing game over the last few years. They just looked more dynamic as an offense than they did under Alex Smith, no disrespect. To me, this is still the team to beat in the NFC and the road to the Super Bowl in the NFC will travel through San Francisco come playoff time. The one thing that concerns me though about them is their secondary still. The front of that defense with the Smith boys, Willis, Bowman and Brooks will do their jobs up front but the back end of this defense is what will make or break this team moving forward and that’s how you beat the 49ers is by stretching their defense and attacking their secondary. Sunday night will be a huge task with the rival Seahawks.

Seahawks: When I saw Seattle play the Panthers the other day, they had a lot of problems up front on that offensive line. Russell was running for his life a good portion of the day. This defense is still as good as advertised and they are the best defense in the league. They put pressure on the QB and that secondary is what sets them apart from other defenses. If I’m Richard Sherman, I’m excited that Anquan Boldin is coming to town after the type of game he had in week one because Richard is a taller corner and he can defend those bigger and physical wide receivers like an Anquan, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, etc and he’d prefer to face those guys than a smaller receiver like a Welker, Cruz or Amendola. It’s an early season test for the Seahawks on Sunday night as the defending NFC champs come to town. That crowd will be in full effect as they always are.

Prediction: When these two played each other last season in San Francisco, that was the most physical game I saw. It was hard hitting and both teams relied heavily on their defenses to win the game. I have a feeling that’s what we will see on Sunday night as well. I like Seattle to get a win at home. Seahawks 21 49ers 17
