Andy Reid Returns To Philly.

AFC Game Of The Week

Chiefs (2-0) at Eagles (1-1)

Chiefs: Though it’s only been two games the Chiefs have shown many signs of improvement. They play with more discipline and they added one of the better head coaches in the last ten seasons in Andy Reid. Secondly, they have a quarterback. Alex Smith has another shot as that guy in Kansas City after a rocky start to his career in San Francisco and third, they’ve improved on defense too. They get those takeaways and they put pressure on the quarterback with Tamba Hali up front. Many feel this is the only team in the AFC West that will compete with the Broncos. Another big reason for the early success has been a healthy Jamaal Charles who gives this offense balance and can be effective running the ball and catching it in the open field. He’ss a versatile guy who you can line up as a receiver. For the first time since he was fired, Andy Reid will reutrn to the city he called home the last fourteen years in Philadelphia.

Eagles: The Eagles are much improved under Chip but there are still some issues that need to be looked at. Through the first two weeks of the season, the biggest improvement I’ve noticed with the Eagles has been that offensive line which had been the big issue over the last two seasons. They’ve improved immensely. They’ve opened holes for McCoy to run the football and they’ve given Michael Vick time to throw the ball. You play as well as those five guys do up front and Vick looks extremely comfortable throwing from that pocket. He’s almost looked like the guy from 2010 when he got another opportunity to start. The issue surrounding this team now is the defense. This offense will score points but they will also give up points as well. On Thursday night, the Eagles will welcome back their old coach.

Prediction: To stop this fast offensive attack of the Eagles, you need to look at what the Chargers did this past Sunday. A lot of man coverage across the board and pressure on Michael Vick. Flush him to the right side of the pocket. The Chiefs need to run the ball and play their own game. I like the Chiefs to get Reid a win in his homecoming. Chiefs 28 Eagles 24
