49ers And Falcons To Battle For The NFC

NFC Title Game preview. Enjoy.

NFC Championship

49ers at Falcons

49ers: They’re here for the second straight year in a row. A lot of questions surrounded this Niners team after making an in season Quarterback change. Prior to his injury, Alex Smith went 18-19 in his last start. Then in comes in Colin Kaepernick and he’s bought more of an added dimension to this offense. Alex Smith will get you to the NFC Title game but Colin gives this Niners team more of a chance to get to the Super Bowl so I truly feel that coach Harbaugh has made the right choice at QB. After last season’s NFC Title game loss, the 49ers are motivated and will look to play with a strong passion on Sunday. This is their 15th appearance in the NFC Title game and with a win on Sunday, they’ll be in their first Super Bowl since the Jerry Rice days in the 1990’s. Can the 49ers put the mental lapses behind them from last year and succeed this year?

Falcons: No team entered the playoffs with more questions surrounding them than the Atlanta Falcons. Could they win a playoff game? They set the tone early in their game against the Seahawks and almost gave the game away to them if it hadn’t been for a Matt Bryant field goal to seal the deal and give Matt Ryan and Tony Gonzalez their first ever playoff wins and the franchises first playoff win since 2005. For the first time ever, the Falcons are hosting an NFC conference title game but I feel they have a lot to improve on if they want to represent the NFC in New Orleans on February 3rd. They must get better at containing these mobile Quarterbacks. Russell Wilson ran all around them on Sunday and it gets no easier with Colin Kaepernick coming to town. With a win on Sunday, the Falcons will be in the big game since 1999.

Prediction: It all comes down to this. The 49ers have done absolutely fantastic when playing on Eastern time zone. They have some pretty impressive wins under Harbaugh on the East Coast. The 49ers must come out and put some pressure on Matt Ryan and they have to be physical with Julio and Roddy because you know he’ll get those guys involved whenever he can. The Falcons must contain Colin and take away the play making abilities of Vernon Davis. I like the 49ers to win the NFC and represent their conference in the Super Bowl. 49ers 28 Falcons 24
