Best In The Biz-QB/WR Tandems

Here are my five best QB/WR Tandems.

We’ve seen a lot of good QB/WR tandems in the NFL over the years. To make a good tandem, you have to know each other like the back of your hands. This is another topic that comes up in many discussions. Here are my five best QB/WR tandems today in the league.

1. Stafford/Megatron- Matt Stafford knows he can just put that football in the air and trusts that Tron will come down with it. Matt knows he can get the ball to his go to guy and he’ll do something with it each and everytime. This duo has really elevated themselves as the premiere duo in the game today. They just make it look effortless and easy. They could be at number one for quite some time for the next few years.

2. Cutler/Marshall- After their time together in Denver, Jay and Brandon were reunited in Chicago and they didn’t miss a single beat. Cutler would put the football only to where Brandon could get it. I can honestly say if they were to practice in the pitch dark without lights, Cutler would complete 5 of 10 passes to Marshall. They had a great first season together in Chicago and will only get better. They have the chemistry and the only thing these two want is to win and put up 6 points on the board.

3. Ryan/White- These two would show up on the list sooner or later. Matty Ice to Roddy White. They are two of the key pieces on an Atlanta offense that can score the football with ease. Roddy runs each of his routes consistently and Matt can get him the football no matter where he is on the field. Over the last five seasons, these two have averaged 1,300 yards together. They’re both playmakers and have been some of the many reasons why the Falcons have won football games the past few years.

4. Rodgers/Jordy Nelson- The Packers had so many injuries to their receivers last year. Jennings was hurt from time to time, Donald Driver was nicked up so somebody had to step up. Aaron found a reliable target in Jordy Nelson. Jordy isn’t the biggest receiver but he plays like it on the field. He can stretch the field and work the middle as well and defenses really don’t know how to contain him. Aaron knows he can get the ball to Jordy down the field and he’s a threat to take it to the end zone each and every time he touches it.

5. Eli/Cruz- Throughout his career with the Giants, we’ve always noticed that Eli never really had a go to guy and in a way you can say that’s a good thing. That shows you he can spread the ball around. 2011, Victor Cruz is inserted into this offense and Eli built up a great chemistry with him. Victor is a game changer and Eli knows this guy will be open waiting for the football willing to make a play. Eli seems to get Victor the ball late in the fourth quarter when they need to really score. These two are deadly together on the field.

Honorable Mention: Andy Dalton/A.J. Green. Brees/Colston, Newton/Smith.
