Bitter Rivals Battle In Baltimore

My thoughts on the Steelers/Ravens game. Enjoy Week 13. December football is upon us.

AFC Game Of The Week

Steelers (6-5) at Ravens (9-2)

Steelers- Pittsburgh seemed to have everything going for them. They struggled early on in the season but would eventually win four games in a row. Let’s talk about the past few weeks now. Ben goes down with a rib and shoulder injury so they turn to Byron Leftwich. Unfortunately, Byron ends up going down with two broken ribs of his own so now they turn to Charlie Batch who has experience starting. The Steelers have lost two games in a row and Ben not being there isn’t the only problem. They don’t run the ball, they turn the ball over, they don’t stop anyone on defense, they make too many mental mistakes and they’ve been beat at the line of scrimmage. This is a bad time for the Steelers to slump. To keep their slim chances of making the playoffs alive, it’s a must win game against the Ravens who they face for the second time in three weeks.

Ravens- What a year it’s been for the Ravens. the 9-2 mark is the best 11 game start since 2006 and look at all the injuries they’ve had. Ray goes down with a torn triceps and their best cover Cornerback in LarDarius Webb to a torn ACL. those are two very key guys for the Ravens defense but they would end up getting their best defensive player back in Terrell Suggs after tearing his achilles during the offseason and he came back sooner than expected. If they win out, it looks like they’ll have a week off in January and host a playoff game for the second straight year. They’ve won four games in a row and will look to make it five with the black and yellow coming to town on Sunday. you have to love the rivalry between these two. Can the Ravens take the season series from the Steelers for the second straight season?

Prediction- The Steelers need to enter this game with a playoff mindset. You win, you’re still in one of the final spots in the AFC playoff picture. You lose, you’re in a tough situation. The Steelers must attack the Ravens weakness by running the football often and take care of the ball, no turnovers. There’s nothing more that the Ravens want than to sweep their bitter rivals for the second straight year. I like the Ravens to get the job done on Sunday. Ravens 21 Steelers 10
