Old Rivals Meet In Foxboro

My take on the Colts/Patriots game this upcoming Sunday.

Intriguing Game- Week 11

Colts (6-3) at Patriots (6-3)

Colts: What a story they’ve been this season. Let’s look back to last year. Through nine games in 2011, the Colts were 0-9 amd everything that could go wrong did go wrong. They finished the season at 2-14. Let’s fast forward to them now. They’re at 6-3 and if the playoffs started today, they’d be the AFC’s sixth seed and they’d face their opponent on Sunday in the first round if it all stays the same in the Patriots. Andrew Luck has shown everyone why he was selected first overall in the draft. The Colts have played motivated football for a good portion of the season. They’ve been playing for Coach Pagano, who is out with a treatable form of leukemia so these guys want nothing more than to win football games and get wins for coach. Sunday, the Colts travel to familar territory in Foxboro. Can they get another big win on the road?

Patriots- They’re 6-3 and still a good football team nonetheless but this defense which many stated was improved from a year is just as bad this year as they were last year. Too many plays of 20 yards or more have been given up down the field and they aren’t tackling anybody. I saw some of the worst tackling efforts from the Patriots on Sunday when they played the Bills and they were extremely lucky to win that game as poorly as they looked on defense they always make a play when it’s necessary and that’s what I respect about the Patriots. They have a bend but dont break defense. Basically, their mindset is you can take the shots down the field on us, run it on us and move the chains on us but once you get to the endzone, we’ll shut you down. Sunday’s game could be a preview of a playoff matchup we see come January. Can the Patriots win their fourth straight?

Prediction- It’s another classic rivalry rewened on Sunday. The Colts are playing fantastic football and feel they can compete with anyone and you have to admire and respect that confidence. The Patriots continue to win football games and Brady is still Brady. This one will be a QB matchup, I like the Patriots to get the win. Patriots 31 Colts 28
