Packers/Bears Rivalry Continues Sunday

Packers (9-4) at Bears (8-5)

Packers: They obviously aren’t the same team that they were a year ago but the Packers are in first place and the record speaks for itself. At 9-4, the Packers have been victorious in seven of their last eight games and they’ve been able to win games with key guys being injured. Greg Jennings has come back and is trying to get back into a rhythm in this offense. On defense, Clay Matthews has been out for the last four games and Woodson has missed the last two months with a collarbone injury. Even with those two playmakers on the field, this unit is still an average defense at best. The Packers have also had problems on the offensive line as well. Aaron has been the most sacked QB in the league this season. Sunday, the Packers make the trip to Solider Field to face a Bears team looking to snap it’s recent skid. The Packers win this game and they will be NFC North division champs for the second straight year.

Bears: At one time, the Bears were 7-1 and atop the NFC North. What could go right for a football team was going right for the Bears. They were getting those turnovers on defense and turning those into points and the offense was scoring as well. They’ve now lost four of their last five games and if the playoffs were to start today, they would be a Wild Card team. After two straight losses, the Bears sit at 8-5 and looking up to the rival Packers. This defense has seemed to have a hard time containing those quicker players in the league but I still think this is a good team though nonetheless. They also have injuries so in that instance, other guys will have to step it up. This is the biggest game of the year. Your arch rival is in town, you’ve dropped your last two games and you’re still trying to win a division title. This is what it comes down too. How do you approach this game?

Prediction: The last time these two played, Cutler was sacked six times and the Packers got their first win of the season. That was week 2. 13 weeks later, more is on the line. The Packers must limit Brandon’s big plays like they did last time and force Cutler to look elsewhere to beat them. If I’m the Bears, I’m establishing the running game and keeping Aaron on the sideline. I also want to contain him in the pocket and force him to throw in the pocket.
