The Week That Was (9/12-15)

1. Peyton outshines Eli- This was the third all-time meeting between the Manning boys. The Broncos were looking to continue winning and the Giants wanted to simply redeem themselves after a week one in Dallas that saw them turn the ball over six times. What was a defensive struggle in the first half turned into points scored in the second half courtesy of Peyton. Denver won their thirteenth straight game and Peyton improved to 3-0 all-time against his brother.

2. Aaron Rodgers has big day- The Redskins and Packers were both division winners last year. They both entered this game 0-1. I just couldn’t see Aaron Rodgers and company starting 0-2 and they got a huge win over the RG3 and the Redskins. Aaron had close to a perfect day on Sunday and he continues to show us why he’s the best quarterback in the game today.

3. Chargers get a huge win in Philadelphia-The Chargers had to get that bad taste out their mouth after blowing a big lead last Monday night to the Texans. The Eagles and Chip Kelly were looking to keep that high-flying offense going. Michael Vick had another great game and so did DeSean Jackson but it was the Chargers that prevailed to give rookie head coach Mike McCoy his first career victory. This was a huge win for them considering how they blew the lead last Monday night. For them to come across the country and get a W in a hostile place says a lot.

4. Bama holds off Texas A&M- This was the College Football game of the year to many so far. The defending champions against the controversial yet reigning Heisman trophy winner. What started off with A&M taking the lead would turn into Bama dominating throughout the rest of the game. A&M made a comeback but it wasn’t enough to get a W.

5. Seahawks shut down 49ers- This was the marquee game of week 2. A rivalry renewed and many consider both Seattle and San Francisco title contenders. After a weather delay, the Seahawks showed to be the much better team. This defense showed why it’s the best in the league forcing five turnovers including three Colin Kapernick interceptions.
