Be Prepared This Winter
It has always been said there are two seasons in Chicago, construction and snow. This has proven to be true with the first snow fall behind us.
It has always been said there are two seasons in Chicago, construction and snow. This has proven to be true with the first snow fall behind us. The cold, wind, ice and snow can cause everyone a headache with travel times increasing due to the slippery conditions and the dreaded shoveling of the snow.
It is important to remember to treat shoveling snow like any other sport.
- Make sure you stretch before you start shoveling to help your joints and muscles warm and reduce the chance of injury.
- Wear proper clothes and shoes. This can help reduce the chance of slipping and falling.
- Lift with your legs and not your back. Snow is heavier than it looks, so make sure you are lifting the snow with your legs and not your back to help reduce the chance of injury.
Those are just a few simple things you can do to help avoid any unwanted injury. If you do injure yourself make sure to see your local Chiropractic Physician who is licensed and trained to diagnose and treat the entire neuromuscular skeletal system.
