FEMA Teams Dispatched to Areas Affected by Flood in Will County

Disaster Survivor Assistance Teams want to make sure residents, businesses are aware that federal help is available.

FEMA has dispatched members of its Disaster Survivors Assistance Teams (DSAT) to Will County this week in an effort to make sure flood-affected residents and business owners know federal help is available.

Members of DSAT teams, identifed by their FEMA windbreakers and ID cards, will be in town over the nxext few days to raise awareness and help residents complete applications for assistance, according to the Village of Plainfield website.

Residents and business owners hit hard by flooding are elibible for federal assistance since President Barack Obama declared Will, Kendall and eight other Illinois counties a federal disaster area.
