Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Effect through 10:30 p.m.

"Hurricane strength" winds could be part of the package, the National Weather Service says.

The National Weather Service says Plainfield is one of a dozen towns that could experience severe thunderstorms tonight.

The warning, issued shortly before 10 p.m., could produce "hurricane force" winds of 80 mph.

The storm line extends from York to Bolingbrook to Yorkville and is moving at 50 mph. Wind gusts in excess of 60 mph were reported in Aurora.
