Snow and Ice Predicted for Rest of the Week for Plainfield

The National Weather Service is predicting some rough weather for the Plainfield area.

Nasty winter weather is on the way for the Plainfield area.

The National Weather Service is warning of a hazardous outlook for the next 72 hours.

For Wednesday, the area will see wind chill values of -5 to -15 degrees. On Thursday the forecast is calling for 4 to 5 inches of accumulating snow in the afternoon and into the evening hours.

Snow could change over to periods of freezing drizzle and light snow by early Friday. 

For those without heat, the village of Plainfield has established the Plainfield Law Enforcement Center as a "warming center," open while temperatures and wind chill remain below zero degrees.

Anyone who needs to use the center should call the Plainfield Police Department's non-emergency number, 815-436-2341, or simply come to the police center, 14300 S. Coil Plus Drive.
