For $250,000 you could buy one of two comparably-priced homes. The first is in Plainfield, the second in Bolingbrook.

1. 11730 Wolf Creek Ln., Plainfield: Priced at $249,900, according to listings.

This is a four-bedroom, three-bathroom single-family house. The 2,568 square-foot home was built in 2003.
