January 14th Green Village Program Spans from Glaciers to Wildflowers

Illinois is home to some of the most beautiful prairies in the country. But 20,000 years ago, our landscape was dominated by glaciers. Attend the January 14th Green Village Lecture Series program at the Plainfield Public Library to learn how Illinois’ prairies were created.

Presenter Raymond Wiggers will provide an informative look at how Illinois’ landscapes, soils, and plant communities evolved. Mr. Wiggers is an engaging public speaker and professor with extensive experience in natural history and botanical sciences.

The Green Village Lecture Series is a partnership between the Village of Plainfield and the Plainfield Public Library District to host monthly workshops with an environmental focus. Events are held the second Monday of each month, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois Street. Programs are free but registration is requested. To register, visitwww.plainfieldpubliclibrary.org.  For more information about the Green Village Initiative, please visit www.plainfield-il.org.
