HOPE FOR KENDALL CUT-A-THON at Versed Salon

Hope for Kendall Cut-A-Thon

Kendall Quinn is a bubbly, feisty red head who prefers to be called "Ariel" after her favorite Disney Princess. She loves to play with Play-Doh, play dress up with her sisters, and loves all things "Little Mermaid". But behind that feisty personality is a little girl who has fought for each and every one of her 5 years on earth. Kendall was born with unexpected health issues- breathing difficulties, bowel and bladder issues, and catching every illness going around landing her in the hospital on a monthly basis for the first few years of her life. The answer eventually came along in the form of Mitochondrial Disease- a rarely understood disorder of energy metabolism affecting every cell in the body.
Kendall survives now with a permanent IV implanted in her chest through which she receives her daily nutrition, fluids and medications. She also has a GJ feeding tube and a permanent tube in her abdomen that functions as her bladder. She spent most of her summer in the ICU of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin where her specialists are battling life threatening infections and beating amazing odds to survive. In spite of all her medical challenges, she wakes up every morning with a smile on her face ready to take on each day, and "keep on keepin on"
