Don't Forget the Pets: Plainfield Vet Center Joins Tornado Relief Effort

Items can be dropped off Wednesday and Thursday.

The tornadoes that devastated central Illinois on Sunday left many residents in dire need of help — and it also took its toll on pets, and left many homeless.

Animal Care Center of Plainfield employee Kammy Nicole is collecting pet supplies to help the four-legged victims of the storms.

On Wednesday and Thursday, pet supplies can be dropped off at the center, 14411 S. Route 59. The following items are most needed:

  • Food
  • Food and water bowls
  • Cat boxes
  • Litter box liners/litter
  • Toys
  • Bedding
  • Shampoo
  • Towels/blankets
  • Collars
  • Leashes
  • Gallons of water
Kammy said she will deliver items to Tazwell County Animal Control on Friday.
