Fundraiser to Benefit Family of Cancer Victim

A Plainfield woman is organizing a fundraiser to benefit the family of her sister-in-law, who recently lost her battle with an aggressive form of ovarian cancer.

The event will be held from 4 to 10 p.m. March 24 at the American Legion Hall in Lockport, 15052 Archer Ave.

It's being organized by Carrie Ann Labuda, of Plainfield, to benefit the family of MaryBeth Perkne, 36, who underwent a hysterectomy and weeks of chemotherapy only to have the cancer spread to her liver and lungs.
