"Change the World" is a global movement of United Methodists doing what they can to improve lives and community.

Local projects range from cleaning up neighborhoods and parks, painting over graffiti, music and crafts at Lakewood nursing home, collecting shoes for donations to Share Your Soles©, baking cookies for our police and fire departments, donating blood, preparing a meal, and assembling blankets for area shelters.

What Donations are Needed?

As groups of work crews prepare their hearts to serve, the churches are seeking donations from the community to make an even bigger impact on this great day of service. At this time the church is asking for donations of:

  • Gently used shoes
  • Extra long twin size sheets
  • Pillows and pillow cases
  • Twin size comforters
  • Dish towels
  • Kitchen towels
  • Wash clothes

All of these items can be dropped off at Plainfield UMC before May 1 or come enjoy free coffee and doughnuts when you drop shoes off on May 1 at the corner of Des Plaines and Main St in downtown Plainfield.
