Plainfield Schools to Host Fundraiser 5K Events

Fast Cat 5K, Eastside Shuffle return in April.

Both Plainfield North and East high schools will hold community running and walking events in April to benefit their students and area charities. 

First, PNHS will hold its third annual “Fast Cat 5K/10K and 1-mile Kids Run” Saturday, April 5, at PNHS, 12005 S. 248th Street, Plainfield. 

The Kids Run starts at 8 a.m. The 5K/10K starts at 8:30 a.m. All participants pre-registered byMarch 26, 2014 are guaranteed a custom tech t-shirt. All participants will be eligible for free door prizes, and will get a mostaciolli and bread meal after the race.

Online registration is open through April 1, at www.runfastcat.com. After April 1, registration will be taken at Roadrunner Sports from 4-7 p.m. April 3 and 4. Race day registration will start at 6:30 a.m. in the PNHS lobby.

Eastside Shuffle

Then, PEHS will host its second annual “Eastside Shuffle” 5K walk and run, 1-mile “Superhero Sprint” and 400 meter Kids Only Dash on Sunday, April 27 at PEHS, 12001 S. Naperville Road, Plainfield.

The 400 meter Kids Only Dash will start at 8:45 a.m. The 5K Walk/Run will start at 9 a.m. and the 1-mile Superhero Sprint will start at 10 a.m.

5K participants will get a tech t-shirt, and 1-mile Superhero Sprint participants will get a cotton t-shirt.

Registration for the 5K event is $30 until April 7, then $35 until April 27. Registration for the 1-mile sprint is $20 until April 7, then $25 until April 27. Registration for the 400 meter Kids Dash for children 9 and under is $5 until April 27. Special registration discounts are available for teams of four.
