Reader's Digest is on the hunt for the most interesting town in America, and if someone can convince them it's Plainfield, that person could win $1,000.
Through May 31, residents are invited to log on to www.readersdigest.com/america to share personal stories and images that illustrate what makes the village special.
Folks from all over the country will be participating and the author of the winning story will receive a cash prize of $1,000 and their town will be featured on the cover of an upcoming issue of Reader’s Digest magazine. This is an opportunity for individuals to shine and possibly bring national attention to their hometowns!
The contest is part of the Reader’s Digest "We Hear You America" campaign, a grassroots initiative looking to empower Americans to help their communities.
So how do you enter? Follow this link and register with the site. You'll then be asked to write a short essay (under 2,000 characters) and submit a photo.
There's also a chance for Plainfield to win the weekly popular vote and get a post on the Reader's Digest website and a mention in the magazine to promote local initiatives and possibly raise money for local causes.
So get your creative juices flowing and let everyone know what's so interesting about Plainfield.
