Despite Wet Weather, Trick-or-Treating Still On in Plainfield

Despite the National Weather Service predicting "periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms" Thursday, trick-or-treating is still a go in Plainfield.

The Plainfield Police Department posted this notice on the department Facebook page: "Trick-or-Treat hours HAVE NOT CHANGED and will be tonight, Thursday, October 31 from 4-7 p.m. Have a safe and happy Halloween!"

As of 9 a.m. Thursday, 2.45 inches of rain had fallen in Plainfield, according to the NWS.

The NWS has issued a flood warning for the east branch of the DuPage River in Bolingbrook until late Friday night.

According to Plainfield Township’s river gauge, the DuPage was at 9.26 feet Thursday morning and was not approaching flood level. According to the National Weather Service, the flood stage for the DuPage River is 12 feet.
