Manley Discusses Pension Reform at Town Hall

State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, hosted a Town Hall Meeting last Thursday to answer questions and gather feedback on state government.

Manley was joined by state Sen. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, D-Shorewood, as she explained the recent pension reform bill from the bipartisan conference committee, Senate Bill 1, which was signed into law last week. Manley has previously held Town Hall Meetings in Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Grand Haven, Carillon and Carillon Lakes since taking office last January.

“I wasn’t in Springfield when the problems with overspending and neglecting to make regular pension payments began, but as a certified public accountant, I’ve tried my hardest to work towards responsible, bipartisan solutions that will protect pensions for those who have earned them, as much as possible,” Manley said. “I appreciated everyone who attended to ask questions, get more facts, and to share their ideas for how we can continue to work towards putting our state on a more fiscally stable path.”
