A Movie Reflection by Ken - 'Bad Teacher'

If you were drawn to "Bad Teacher" because of the trailer, skip the movie. You've already seen the best parts.

They really didn't have to put the word "bad" in the title of Bad Teacher, because after 20 minutes of watching this Cameron Diaz bore-fest, it was very clear that it was. If you were drawn to this one because of the trailer, you are good to skip this one. You've already seen the best parts.

This could have been a laugh-a-minute riot. Diaz plays a  junior high teacher who gets dumped by her sugar daddy. Forced to go back to teaching for another year, she begins to woo a colleague (Justin Timberlake), who also comes from money. If only she could get a new pair of breasts, life would be better.

I would love to give a great summary of this bad science experiment, but I feel like I just took a pop quiz after sleeping through the lesson plan. The supporting cast is huge and well-known but struggles to find a purpose. Jason Segel of How I Met Your Mother, Phyllis Smith of The Office and John Michael Higgins of anything labeled comedy are not given any direction to make this one even slightly interesting.

Brief moments of humor are buried under a pile of bad jokes, puns and idiocy. By the end, nothing is really resolved and you feel like you were left out of the joke. Perhaps the writers should go back to school.
