Obituary: Zenon Iwan

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated to honor the life of Zenon Iwan of Joliet, IL. Mr. Iwan, 66, died at St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet on Dec. 8, 2013.

Mr. Iwan, who was born Feb. 20, 1947, in Grodzonowice, Poland, was the son of Josef Iwan and Felicja Jaros. He had immigrated to the United States in 1996 and had also lived in Roeland Park, KS, Chicago, IL, Plainfield, IL, and Plano, IL.

He was recently retired from the Plainfield Unified #202 School District and had also worked for decades as a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Jadwiga; his daughter Beata (John) Moberg of Plainfield; his daughter Elizabeth (Jeff) Moberg of Joliet and three grandchildren – Yana, J.P. and Jack.

The family will hold a visitation from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13 at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home at 15219 S. Joliet Road in Plainfield.  Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated immediately following at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Church, 15629 S. Route 59 in Plainfield. Interment at St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery in Plainfield.
