Higher taxes for Plainfield??

Several years ago the Village raised the sales tax to 8.5%.  This was to help offset the effects of the recession.  The sales tax was due to sunset this year.  Without much discussion or transparency the Village Board on Monday night will vote to make the sales tax permanent.  If you like lack of transparency and higher taxes, then the Village of Plainfield fits right in with Mike Madigan and the State of Illinois.

If you don’t like to pay higher taxes, especially when the housing market in Plainfield is picking up along with revenue, the show up at the Village Board meeting and let the trustees know.  There is a public comment session so you will be allowed to speak.
