Letter: Thank You For Keeping the Wreath Red

Send letters to the editor to shannon.antinori@patch.com

The Plainfield Fire Protection District would like to thank everyone for their efforts in preventing fires during the holiday season.  With everyone’s help we were able to keep the lights on the fire station holiday wreaths red this season.  If there had been a fire as a result of a holiday decoration a red bulb would have been replaced with a white bulb.  Please continue to keep fire and life safety a priority in the New Year.  The Plainfield Fire Protection District wishes everyone a safe and happy new year!

Mary - along with changing the batteries in smoke detectors in October of each year - the FD should remind everyone to include cleaning the drier venting! We did ours last October and found it to be almost clogged with lint! Just a suggestion for future campaigns to stop fires!
