Plainfield Gives Thanks: Readers Share The Reasons They're Thankful This Year

It's Thanksgiving — you know what that means: Time to take stock of the good things in your life.

It's here: That special day when most people gather around the table with loved ones to enjoy a feast and give thanks for the year that was.

Truth be told, times are still tough for a lot of people. The economy is still shaky, and a lot of people are struggling to make ends meet (including some of us lucky enough to be employed).

But Plainfield clearly still has plenty of reasons to give thanks; here's what some of you had to say on the Plainfield Patch Facebook page:

What are you thankful for this year?

Stacey S. Health, a roof over my head, food in fridge, $ in pocket, friends, family, faith, sunshine, my 2 cats......I could go on.

Barb B. The fire we survived. We may have lost everything but we have each other.

Rochelle H. Everything I hace ever experienced. From childbirth to being able to talk to anyone. :)

Kevin S. That Notre Dame is 10-0! (Should be 11-0 by Thanksgiving)

Kim G. Health, family/friends and to have our jobs for continued income.... We know so many without.

So what about your Plainfield Patch editor? Well, this year, I'm thankful for a lot of things: A job I love at a time when there are many who can't say the same; having a family that's mostly healthy — my dad's a bit under the weather, but I'm thankful that he's doing better and has a good prognosis — and very happy; a brand-new baby nephew (who, for the first time ever, gave me a huge smile yesterday, causing my heart to melt); a husband who is loving and supportive no matter what; a healthy body that lets me stay active; and the best friends anyone could ask for.
