Thank You, Community!

I want to thank the "pack of radicals" in our community that came out tonight to witness the courage displayed by Janet Siloskey and the lack of any shame by Peter Hurtado. For the good of the District, he needs to resign. This is going to dog us forever whether the issues she raised are true or not. The truth will come out one way or another. For now, we need to be able to move on our we're going to be totally paralyzed.

Thanks, Larry. Everyone--well, nearly everyone--has been so honorable and worked so hard. It's been (and will continue to be!) a real education and inspiration to me, my family, and my friends. A gal pal who lives in another town called this one of the best real-time civics lessons anyone will ever see.

Well said Larry. However, it's sad to say, I don't believe that Peter Hurtado really cares about what's good for the District.

Thanks Mr. Newton you are right for whatever reason (I am assuming to save what's left of her political career) that Ms. Silosky was courageous on coming forward. .Looks like Ms. SIilosky can think for herself and do what's right for our park district. Interesting that Steinys wasn't the one to come forward after his "heroic" actions with PayPal.

It's too late for Silosky to save herself. She damned her political career to the fires of hell for foolishly aligning herself with something no sane person would align themselves with. I'm sorry, but there's no explaining that away, there's no big enough tearful repentance; the woman has unfortunately allowed herself to be nothing more than a political pawn in a game that cannot be won by doing everyone's bidding but her own. EVERYONE on the PTPD board that aligned themselves with Hurtado, including Hurtado himself, needs to be flushed from the gas station bathroom that the PTPD has become. EVERY ONE OF THEM. Her "heartfelt confession" about things anyone with a brain in their head already figured out is nothing more than a classic attempt to save her own butt. Anyone can see through that like a piece of plastic wrap. I feel sorry for her that she was duped into what she did and said, but that just shows her incapability of discerning what reality is. I think she's a pretty smart gal somewhere down deep, but she needs to stop allowing herself to be other people's sock puppet. She knows right from wrong. She just needs to speak up about it instead of only barking when someone pulls her chain. It's distasteful to me to see what this person allowed herself to become. Apparently hollow promises were made to her in exchange for her cooperation with something she knew she shouldn't have been a part of. That's abuse in my mind. To right that, she needs to speak her own mind and show she has a backbone.
