Letter: Let's Light Those (Street) Lights!

Send letters to the editor to shannon.antinori@patch.com

With daylight hours shortening and Halloween and the winter season coming up it would be great to get more of our burned out street lights in Plainfield shining again.  I’ve always found the Plainfield Public Works department ready and willing to fix these, but they can’t fix what they don’t know is broken.  If you have a burnt out street light on your block or nearby, please report it to Public Works.  They will get it re-lit and that will help our families, friends, and even pets to be safer when walking, jogging, riding, and driving around town.  You can contact Public Works via telephone or email at:  (815) 436-3577 or nmazurek@goplainfield.com and they will ask you where, as specifically as possible (down to the address of the house nearest to the burnt out light, where applicable), the light is located.  A work order will get issued and soon all will be brighter and that means safer!  Thanks in advance to everyone who can help out with this.  The men and women at Public Works do a very good job but they need us to help by letting them know about things that need doing.
