Letter: Republican Voters React to Park District Controversy
Local GOP members speak out on hiring of fellow Republican Garrett Peck.
The following letter was submitted to Plainfield Patch:
In light of recent actions by the Plainfield Park District Board, the undersigned local Republican voters would like to make the following statement.
We do not support the apparently hurried actions of the Plainfield Park District Board. While we are not privy to the information that the park district board is, absent an impending disaster or emergency, we do not see justification for the lack of a transparent, measured process in addressing leadership selection.
We believe that a transparent and measured approach would have resulted in an objective and highly qualified candidate. We do not support the selection of Mr. Peck for the position of executive director of the Plainfield Park District.
