CROP Walk Is Oct. 21

We all care about hungry people.

On Oct. 21, Plainfield UMC will be participating in the Joliet CROP Walk. The event begins at 1 p.m. at the First/Santa Cruz Lutheran Church, located at 55 W. Benton, Joliet, and will last five miles with a one-mile option.

Twenty five percent of the Joliet CROP Walk will support both the Ridgewood Food Pantry and Blessing Bench Food Pantry in Joliet.

We all care about hungry people, but what can one person do?  You can join in the local CROP Hunger Walk to raise your voice against hunger and raise funds to help hungry people around the world and here in our own area. To find our more, visit http://plainfieldumc.com/cropwalk. If you are unable to join the team any
donations are welcome.

Curious about what a CROP Walk is? CROP Hunger Walks are community
wide events sponsored by Church World Service (CWS) and organized by local
volunteers. CWS-sponsored CROP Hunger Walks are the nation's oldes walks for
hunger and the only charity event that raises funds for both local and
international hunger programs.1

"If you offer your food to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, then your light shall rise in the darkness and your gloom be like the noonday." -Isaiah 58:10
