UPDATE: Bolingbrook Plane Crash Victims Identified as Kentucky Doctor & His Wife

Two people perish in single-engine plane crash near Clow International Airport.

Two victims from the single-engine plane crash near Clow International Airport in Bolingbrook on Wednesday night now have been identified, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

Dr. Narayan Venguswamy, 63, a licensed pilot, and his wife, Jay, were in town to attend a medical conference when the plane he was flying ran into trouble, hit a tree and a telephone pole and then crashed into three vehicles in the Chase Bank parking lot at 262 S. Weber Road.

Jay was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. Her husband, referred to by colleagues as "Dr. Vengu" at Georgetown (Ky.) Community Hospital, stumbled out of the wreckage, his body on fire, and was assisted by stunned onlookers as well as first-responders. He was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital and later transfered to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood where he died.

Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa said Dr. Venguswamy was pronounced dead by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office at 5:45 a.m. Thursday. No one on the ground was injured in the crash, the cause of which remains under investigation by the FAA and NTSB.
