Bruce D. Connolly, 47, was arrested at about 6:20 a.m. Friday after police were called to the family's home at 2112 Litchfield Court on a domestic disturbance complaint, Roechner said. The home is in the area of Caton Farm and Arbeiter roads.
Connolly's wife said her husband became violent when she refused to give him her cell phone and attempted to choke her, he said. Their son tried to stop him, which allowed her to break away and take refuge behind a table, he said.
When the husband started pushing the table into her body, the boy intervened again and she was able to get out of the house and call police, Roechner said.
Connolly was charged with aggravated domestic battery in connection with his attack on his wife and domestic battery for shoving his son out of the way, Roechner said.
Connolly is being held Kendall County jail.
