'Buckle Up for Love' — Plainfield Launches Pre-Valentine's Seat Belt Campaign

Police will enforce seat belt laws through Valentine's Day.

Submitted by the Plainfield Police Department:

The Plainfield Police Department remains dedicated to reducing injury related and fatal traffic crashes. One of the best ways to do this is by aggressively enforcing occupant restraint laws.

The Plainfield Police Department will conduct its annual “Buckle Up for Love” Click it or Ticket campaign in conjunction with Valentine’s Day. This campaign runs until Feb. 15.

During this timeframe, Plainfield Police Officers will focus a large amount of their efforts on occupant restraint violations, and will take a “zero tolerance” approach.  Plainfield Police Officers will conduct enforcement during daytime and nighttime hours, both from vehicles and on foot at various locations throughout the Village.  Anyone stopped for failing to buckle up can expect a citation.
