Car Hits I-55 Guard Rail, Catches on Fire
No one was injured in the crash, which took place at about 9 p.m. Tuesday near the U.S. 30 exit.
A driver headed northbound on Interstate 55, north of the U.S. 30 exit, lost control of his car Tuesday night, causing him to strike the guard rail and set the vehicle on fire, the Illinois State Police said.
The man was able to get out of the car and was not injured in the crash, which took place at about 9 p.m., Illinois State Police Sgt. Jim Towell said.
Citations were issued in the crash, although details on the charges were not available early Wednesday morning. Towell said the citations were speed-related.
