Credit Card Spending Spree Leads to Alleged Plainfield Car Burglar

Suspect also admits to burglarizing cars in Target and Walmart parking lots July 2, police say.

A Plainfield man who alledgedly stole a wallet from a car and used the victim's credit card to go on a buying spree Thursday has been charged with two counts of burglary.

David G. Oraha, 23, 2510 John Bourg Drive, is accused of breaking into a vehicle parked behind , 13400 S. Route 59. The vehicle's owner saw Oraha and was able to describe him and the black Chevy Cobalt he was driving to police, Plainfield police Sgt. Kevin McQuaid said in a statement released Friday.

Shortly after responding to the 1:10 p.m. burglary call, police learned the victim's credit card had been used at several stores in Joliet and Crest Hill, McQuaid said.

After viewing video surveillance of the suspect from the stores, police were able to identify Oraha and arrest him.

During the course of police interviews, Oraha not only admitted his role in the Thursday burglary but said that he burglarized cars on July 2 in the parking lots of , 12800 S. Route 59, and , 12690 S. Route 59, McQuaid said.

Oraha has been charged with two counts of burglary and is being held in the Will County jail pending a bond hearing.
