Four People Hurt in Multi-Car Crash in Plainfield

Several people were taken to area hospitals after a multi-car crash at Van Dyke Road and 135th Street shortly before 10 a.m. Friday.

Plainfield Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton said traffic signals at the intersection were not working after the crash. Plainfield Public Works was called to the scene, and a contractor was working on fixing the issue, Stratton said.

According to Stratton, a man in a Toyota Highlander was taken to the Edward Plainfield emergency room in good condition. A woman in the vehicle refused treatment, Stratton said.

A man and woman in a Jeep SUV were also taken to Edward Plainfield in good condition, and a female in a Fiat was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, also in good  condition, Stratton said.

Plainfield police are investigating the crash.
