Get Ready for the U.S. 30 Police Clampdown This Wednesday

Campaign encompasses Lincoln Highway from Joliet all the way to Montgomery; police will be looking for speeders and seat belt violators.

Leadfoot drivers beware: Police will be out in force Wednesday to nab U.S. 30 traffic law violators all the way from Joliet to Montgomery.

The multi-jurisdictional campaign, which includes U.S. 30 through Plainfield, is aimed at increasing traffic safety and reducing accidents. Police will be looking for speeders, people not wearing seat belts and violations involving trucks, according to a release from the .

In addition to Plainfield, the other agencies involved in the campaign are the Crest Hill, Joliet, Montgomery and Oswego police departments, the Kendall and Will county sheriff's departments, and the Illinois State Police.
