Halloween Enforcement Nets 2 Arrests, 68 Tickets in Plainfield

The campaign was funded by federal traffic safety dollars.

In conjunction with Halloween, the Plainfield Police Department conducted four seatbelt enforcement zones, during which the following citations were issued/arrests made: 

  • 1 arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol
  • 1 arrest for possession of cannabis
  • 45 citations for failing to wear seatbelt
  • 10 citations for violation of child passenger safety act
  • 3 citations for no insurance
  • 3 citations for speeding
  • 7 other citations

This enforcement crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.

The next campaign will be conducted in conjunction with Thanksgiving, and will run from Nov. 18 to Dec. 1.
