Illinois State Police are on the scene responding to a jackknifed semi-trailer on I-55 south just north of Route 6, according to police.

One lane remains open as of just after 10 a.m., but police are urging drivers to use caution in the area. No injuries have been reported.

"Also, remember to slow down, and change lanes away from all emergency vehicles conducting duties with their emergency lights activated," police said in a press release. "Also, if motorist decide to drive during these conditions, we ask that they please drive cautiously and have warm clothing, food and water, in their vehicle in case they become stranded. We are doing our best to attend to all stranded motorists as quickly as possible."
